Tecnológico de Monterrey was founded in 1943 by Eugenio Garza Sada and a group of businessmen with the purpose of promoting higher education in Mexico through the civil association Enseñanza e Investigación Superior, A.C. Since its beginnings, it has been characterized as a private, non-profit institution, independent from political and religious ideologies. Its growth and operation have been supported by civil associations and leaders committed to educational quality, as well as by the support of the national community through raffles and scholarship and infrastructure programs. More than 80 years after its foundation, Tec continues to strengthen its role as an institution focused on the development of communities and the country.
